George Ainsworth - Artist/Painter in Crete
Born in Leeds in 1949 I went to Central High School, Leeds, then Foundation studies at the Regional College of Art in Bradford, before attending Winchester for my degree in sculpture and printmaking. Post Graduate followed at the Royal Academy Schools, London before completing my formal education at Brighton with an Art Teacher's Certificate.
I worked in Community Arts in Shoreham and Wrexham College of Art and later originated and taught mainstream courses. During that time I developed my own art work in pastels, watercolour and oils having a series of individual and group shows.
My work is in various collections from the the Stanley Picker Trust to various private collections in Britain, USA, Belgium and Greece.
For the last 15 years I have been living and working in Crete.
